West Ohio Community Action Partnership has a Lead Safe Home Program which offers assistance to low- and moderate-income families, as well as rental property owners, in making their homes lead-safe for children. The applicant’s home will be tested for lead-based paint and if found, staff will make a plan with the owners to remove the lead. A limit of $20,000 per home is the maximum allowable assistance.

Eligible Applicants
- There must be a child under the age of six residing or frequently visiting the home and/or someone pregnant living in the home.
- The home or apartment must have been built before 1978.
- Occupant gross income must be low or moderate.
- The home must be located in Lima.
- The property taxes must be up-to-date or on an active payment plan.
Required Documentation
- Copy of previous year’s W2 or tax return
- Last three (3) pay stubs
- All other sources of income received (please attach a payment statement.)
